A move between Belgium and the Netherlands — neighbouring countries with a dense road network — looks simple on the map. In practice, narrow streets in Brussels or Antwerp and lift-free canal houses in Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht need the same planning as a move spanning thousands of kilometres. Layner Group organises door-to-door moves for homes and offices using our own fleet, with CMR liability on every trip.
What's included
The crew collects your belongings from your Belgian address and delivers them in the Netherlands with no intermediate warehouse transfer: loading and professional securing of furniture and equipment, transport on our own vehicle, unloading and reassembly of larger items on site. Professional packing is available separately — see what's included in our guide to packing for an international move.
Timeline and what drives the price
The distance is short — the route takes one to two days depending on the exact addresses and whether your shipment travels dedicated or shared. What moves the final price is volume, floor level and lift access on both ends, whether professional packing is needed, and the transport format. A preliminary quote based on your inventory arrives within 15-30 minutes.
Paperwork: an intra-EU move
Belgium and the Netherlands are both EU members, so household goods don't go through customs clearance. On the practical side, you'll typically need to register your new address with the Dutch municipality (inschrijving) within its own deadline — confirm it locally. If a car is part of the move, we cover re-registration in our guide to vehicle transport for an international move.
Office relocation without stopping work
For businesses, this route often means opening a new office or warehouse without pausing operations. We plan loading and unloading in phases — a Friday evening and weekend slot, for instance — so your team walks into a working office on Monday.
